What's actually going on?

Pick the one that matches what you're dealing with right now.

When the air conditioner can't keep up.

Warm air from the vents, a system that won't stop running, or one that won't start at all. We diagnose it and tell you the price before we touch anything.

Why Barber's

Why homeowners call us back

Local, not a call center

You're talking to someone who knows Western PA, not a national dispatch line reading from a script.

Straight pricing

A price before the work starts, in writing. If something changes once we're inside the unit, you hear about it before we act on it.

We diagnose before we sell

No part gets replaced until we know it's the actual problem. That's slower on paper and cheaper in practice.

Done right the first time

A callback for the same problem two weeks later isn't a discount. It's a job that wasn't finished the first time.

How it works

From call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Call

Tell us what's going on. No phone tree, no script.

  2. Step 2

    Free estimate

We look at the job and give you a real price before anything's scheduled.

  3. Step 3

    Scheduled work

Install or repair, done on the day we agreed to, by someone who was told what the job is.

  4. Step 4

    Follow-up

We check that it's actually working the way it's supposed to, not just that we left.

FAQ

Questions people ask before calling

Is the estimate actually free?

Yes. We'll come look at the job and give you a price before anything is scheduled. You're not paying for the visit just to find out what something costs.

How much will my repair cost?

It depends on what's actually wrong, and we won't guess over the phone. A tech diagnoses the problem first, then you get a written price before any work starts. No surprise number at the end.

What areas do you serve?

We work across Western Pennsylvania. If you're not sure whether your address is in range, call the number above and we'll give you a straight answer.

Do you come out for no-heat or no-cool emergencies?

Call us and describe what's happening. We'll tell you honestly how soon we can get there rather than promising a window we might not hit.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my system?

Rule of thumb: if the system is under 10 years old and the repair is a one-time fix, repair it. Past 12 to 15 years, or if you're facing a second major repair in a couple of years, replacement usually costs less over time. We'll give you real numbers for your specific system, not just the rule of thumb.

How often should I get my system serviced?

Once a year for each system you run: cooling in spring, heating in fall. Regular maintenance is what catches a cheap fix before it becomes an expensive one.

Do you offer financing?

Ask when you call. We'll walk you through what's available for your situation rather than quoting a program over the website that may not fit.

Why is my AC blowing warm air?

Usually one of a few things: low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty coil or filter restricting airflow, or an electrical component that's failed. All of them are diagnosable in one visit.
